Covid-19 Safety Precautions
In the summer of 2020, JCC Camp Shai was challenged to meet the needs of a community facing the pandemic of COVID-19. We were able to offer a program that balanced the extreme health and safety guidelines, while giving our campers a sense of normalcy the best way we know how: through the magic of camp! Taking what we learned from summer 2020, we are prepared to apply the same precautions and guidelines to our program for the summer 2021: small group size of ten campers, universal mask wearing by staff and campers, social distancing measures, hand washing, daily health screening, and regular sanitizing of surfaces. While these measures seem extreme at first, our Camp Shai community is a resilient one! Our campers proudly wore their face masks and kept the camp spirit alive! We know that this camp spirit will continue no matter what new challenges and guidelines 2021 brings us.
At Camp Shai, we take COVID-19 precautions extremely seriously and operate within state health guidelines and best practices as determined by CDC, Colorado Department of Health and Environment, and the American Camping Association. The precautions we take include:
