Help sustain YOUR Jewish community
In March, 2018, the JCC Denver, JCC Ranch Camp, and the Mizel Arts and Culture Center began its participation in the Live On | Life and Legacy program, a four year partnership program of the Harold Grinspoon Foundation and the Rose Community Foundation. This program helps Jewish communities and organizations across the nation to secure legacy gifts, steward donors, and integrate legacy giving into the philanthropic culture of the Jewish community—all to ensure the long-term sustainability of these organizations and the community as a whole. The JCC Denver, JCC Ranch Camp, and the Mizel Arts and Culture Center join over twenty-seven other Jewish organizations in the greater Denver area in this important initiative.
What is a Legacy Gift?
With a legacy gift, you will keep the Jewish community strong. You will positively impact the lives of people you know and love, as well as the lives of those you will never meet. Legacy gifts give you a special chance to reach into the future and shape lives not for dozens, but for hundreds of years.
Legacy gifts are unique because they are self-sustaining. These gifts are used to build our endowment funds, which produce a steady flow of income year after year, for as long as they exist. So, by giving a legacy gift, you will make it possible for the JCC to continue its programs and serve your community for generations to come.
And the best part? A legacy gift is easy to make and costs you nothing during your lifetime.
What is a Legacy Champion?
When you commit to any legacy gift—whether you include us in your will, retirement plan, or life insurance—you join our team of Legacy Champions. Best part is, we treat our Champions—well, like champions:
- Your name will be listed as a Legacy Champion on our website, within our building, and in various reports and publications.
- You will enjoy invitations to special events just for Legacy Champions.
- You will have the opportunity to be featured as a Legacy Champion on our website and in our newsletter, so you can tell your story about what connects you to the JCC community.
- You will be regularly informed of how legacy gifts like yours have helped members of the JCC community.
We invite you to become a Legacy Champion by naming the JCC Denver, the JCC Ranch Camp, or the Mizel Arts and Culture Center in your will, trust, life insurance policy, or retirement plan.
Ways to Give
Legacy gifts help you meet your philanthropic goals and extend your generosity well into the future. These amazing gifts make significant impacts, but cost you nothing during your lifetime. And there are many ways to leave a legacy gift:
Wills
Charitable Trusts
Retirement Plans
What to Give
Just like there are many ways you can leave a legacy gift to the JCC, there are also many types of assets you can give—the options are almost limitless! From cash and stocks to real estate and life insurance, legacy gifts can take many different forms, one that can reflect your unique goals and financial needs. If these don’t look like the right options for you, know that there are other assets you can leave as a legacy gift! We encourage you to discuss all your options and goals with an attorney or financial advisor.
Cash
Some legacy donors give cash gifts to the JCC Denver, JCC Ranch Camp, or the Mizel Arts and Culture Center Endowment Funds. These simple, easy gifts are made with checks and credit cards and are immediately deposited into one of our endowment funds, so your gift can provide support long into the future! You may choose to donate securities, like stock. We can help you and your financial advisor with this kind of transfer. Just give us a call, and we can provide you with important information to facilitate a legacy stock transfer!
Retirement plans like IRAs (individual retirement accounts), 401(k) plans, and other similar plans make wonderful legacy gifts and might be the perfect option for you.
It can be very easy to donate the proceeds of a life insurance policy, and it is an often overlooked way to make a legacy gift—but we want you to know about it; this option might be a perfect fit.
