School’s Out! Days are one-off camp programs that we host throughout the year when local schools are out of session for certain federal holidays, professional development, and other such closures. School’s Out! Days are filled with hands-on programming in areas like engineering and design, arts and crafts, and sports.

Hours & Pricing
Each day of School’s Out! Camp runs from 8:30 am – 3:30 pm. We offer both Sunrise Care and Sunset Care options for families that are in need of more time in the mornings or evenings.

This year, we are also offering a special discount for families enrolling with more than one of their children. We will knock 20% off the enrollment cost for additional siblings. If you are interested in getting this discount, please contact registrar@jccdenver.org.

Licensing & Accreditation
We hold ourselves to incredibly high standards around safety, as well as operations and programming. In addition to being in excellent standing with the State of Colorado Child Care Licensing, Camp Shai is accredited by the American Camping Association (ACA) as of 2023. The ACA accreditation process was a deep dive into all programs and operations of Camp Shai to ensure that we continue to meet the extensive standards laid out by the ACA and the State of Colorado. After turning over every stone, we are proud to say that we are an ACA Accredited Camp.

Theme: S’more Adventures!
Who doesn’t love s’mores? This Valentine’s Day, we’ll celebrate our favorite things: camp, friends, games, and, of course, s’mores! At School’s Out! Fun and friendship come together for a day filled with exciting activities, delicious treats, and the magic of bringing the outdoors inside!
Get ready for some wild games like the S’mores Relay Race and a scavenger hunt to find hidden s’mores goodies around camp. We’ll also dive into some awesome STEM activities, like building the tallest s’mores tower! We’ll end the day with our very own s’mores station, where campers can build their own perfect treat!

Theme: Wizarding World of Shai
No need to worry if you’re a muggle; here, we believe everyone has a little magic inside them! With each activity, campers will unleash their creativity and dive into a world of wonder and imagination. This exciting day of School’s Out! will be packed with enchanting wand crafts, thrilling wizarding game competitions, and the chance to forge new friendships! School’s Out! Magic Academy isn’t complete without potion class, where campers will test their skills creating foaming potions.
Join us for the Wizarding World of Shai, where fun and friendship make every moment special! Get ready for a day filled with laughter, creativity, and a little bit of magic!

School’s Out! Break Camps
School’s Out! Break Camps are larger blocks of camp programs that we host throughout the year when local schools are closed. In addition to your favorite camp activities, campers will have the opportunity to swim at the JCC’s indoor pool and campers in grades 2nd and up will go on field trips in the surrounding area.

Theme: Campsgiving
Join us at School’s Out! for the first break camp of the season! All campers will get to enjoy some turkey-themed activities and games and swim in the JCC’s indoor pool. Campers in grades 2nd and up will be going on two amazing field trips (listed below) and all campers will have the chance to enjoy School’s Out! very own Turkey Trot on Wednesday!

Theme: Shai’s Winter Celebration!
Join us for a magical winter break filled with joy and celebration as we celebrate the Festival of Lights! Campers will enjoy winter-themed arts and crafts, science experiments, dreidel games, and swimming in our indoor pool. We’ll also focus on sharing acts of kindness, helping everyone feel connected to each other, and strengthening our camp community. Also, your camper can show their holiday spirit on Cozy Sweater Day—they can wear their coziest or silliest sweater on December 24!
This is a great chance for all campers to celebrate the season of miracles and create lasting memories! Whether you’re celebrating Hanukkah or just looking for fun with friends, we can’t wait to welcome you to School’s Out!

Theme: Arctic Adventure
Welcome to Camp Shai’s Arctic Adventure, where winter excitement is in the air! This winter break, your child can dive into hands-on science experiments exploring the wonders of the Arctic, unleash their creativity with fun Arctic-themed crafts, and enjoy splashing around in our (heated) indoor pool. With plenty of engaging games and activities, campers will have a blast making new friends and learning all about life in the world’s coldest environment!
Plus, we’ll be welcoming the new year in the coziest way possible with a pajama party on December 31!

Theme: Snow-tacular Fun Day
Join us for the ultimate winter break send-off at our “Snow-tacular Fun Day”! As the last day of winter break camp, we’re packing in all of the frosty excitement with snowflake arts and crafts, ice and snow science experiments, and splashing around in our indoor pool. It’s the perfect way for campers to enjoy their final day of break before heading back to school. Don’t miss out on a day full of snowy fun and creative adventures that will make returning to the classroom a bit brighter!
