Purchase Your Limited Edition Mezuzah On September 12

jcc-jfreemond-104846In commemoration of the 100th Anniversary of the JCC Denver, our ceramics team has created a limited run of 25
com
memorative mezuzahs. Designed and created completely in-house at the JCC, they are a “testament to the creative talent of the JCC ceramics community”, shares Ari Shahbazi, Fine Arts Program Manager, and the artistic vision behind the design of these one-of-a-kind mezuzahs.

The design of this mezuzah calls upon the principles of contemporary ceramics while paying homage to one of the
oldekfsst pigments of color and cobalt dating back to the 9th century B.C. Persia. The influence of ancient Persia is a nod to the heritage of the artist, whose lineage is Sephardic Jew and Sufi. The mezuzah will include a gold shin for the luster of life, with shades of blue glaze representing balance, peace, and clarity. “Working at the JCC has brought great joy and clarity regarding my life path. There is no other institution that has served as a second home for not only myself but my son and husband. I hope that this mezuzah serves as a reminder of the grounding and connected community that we are part of at the JCC.”
