The JCC Makers Market is a curated, self-serve retail space in the JCC Denver lobby featuring original, artist-made work. You’ll find handmade goods and Judaica- thoughtful, giftable pieces that are easy to pick up while you’re at the JCC.
It supports both emerging and established artists, with a focus on functional objects, small works, prints, and other retail-ready pieces, all in a lively community space where makers and buyers stay directly connected.
Meet the Makers – Featured Artists
Penny Nisson
Penny Nisson is an artist and educator with 27 years experience in museum education. She has participated in exhibits, programs and events relating to Jewish culture and diversity. With many years of experience as a professional artist, her current artworks as a painter, and goals as a private educator, focus on seeking common ground through symbolism. Penny seeks to highlight commonalities across cultures in addition to celebrating Jewish heritage.

What kind of art can be submitted?
The craft or artwork submitted must be created by you. This is a makers space dedicated to original work.
Where is the retail space located?
The retail space is located in the lobby of the JCC Denver.

What are the hours?
The retail space follows JCC Denver building hours. To view the most up-to-date schedule, including holiday hours, Hours of Operation.
How much retail-ready work do I need when submitting?
Artists should have a minimum of 15 pieces available at the start of their placement. Monthly restocking will occur at scheduled meetings with the Fine Arts Education Program Manager.
How does payment work?
Revenue split will be 70% to the artist, 30% to the JCC net revenue after taxes and fees.
Payment occurs at the end of each retail cycle. Sales are reviewed monthly during restock meetings, and payment is issued net 30 after invoices are approved and the cycle concludes.
Example: A spring retail cycle would typically be paid mid-summer pending timely artist invoice approval.
Will someone be managing each sale?
No. This is a self-serve retail space. Purchases are completed through a secure barcode checkout system.
