The Young Artists of Wolf Theatre Academy Present: Taming of the Shrew

Experience Shakespeare’s classic romantic battle in this fast-moving, roller-coaster adventure that explores the relationship between Petruchio, a penniless adventurer, and the strong-willed Katerina as they match wits in one of the zaniest courtships of all time. Baptista, a rich Paduan merchant, announces that his fair young daughter, Bianca, will remain unwed until her older sister, Katharina, a nasty shrew, has married. Petruchio, a fortune-hunting scoundrel from Verona, arrives in Padua, hoping to capture a wealthy wife. A hilarious tale of love, romance, deception, and intrigue ensues. Don’t miss a chance to explore one of the great comedies in theatrical history. This Wolf Theatre Academy mainstage production, which features professional direction, choreography, lighting, set and costume design, is suitable for all ages.

NOTE: Acting/Stagecraft students from grades 6 – 12 work in collaboration with professional directors and designers to fully produce a well known theatrical work on the stage of The Elaine Wolf Theatre. Performers and Technical Apprentices will participate in a three week intensive that culminates in a show run of six performances.
