August is Make a Will Month, and it's a good moment to sit with that question in a warm, practical, you've-got-this kind of way. Because estate planning isn't really about paperwork. It's about love. It's about looking at the people who matter most to you and saying: I thought about you. I made a plan.  The JCC is hosting an informational session with two local estate lawyers on August 26 to help answer these questions.
August is National Dog Month, and honestly, we couldn't think of a better excuse to celebrate the four-legged members of our JCC extended family.  If you've ever walked into a space and immediately felt your whole mood lift, there's a decent chance a dog was involved.  At the JCC Denver, we've been thinking a lot about dogs lately (occupational hazard, it turns out, when so many of your staff are devoted dog parents). And the more we talked about it, the more we realized: beyond enriching our personal lives, dogs reflect something deeply important about who we are and what we value.
For more than five decades, Rosie Wagner helped keep the JCC Denver running from behind the scenes in the business office she called home. This June, the JCC honored her remarkable 54 years of service with the dedication of her beloved teal typewriter and a commemorative plaque. Through her legacy gift and the generosity of family and friends, Rosie’s commitment to the community continues to make an impact for generations to come.
