Practice Preschool is a first classroom experience that prepares toddlers & their parents for the big transition to Preschool. The overall goals are to practice social skills, gain independence, and experience a school-like environment while encouraging your toddler’s growth though play & exploration. Over a session, children will gain confidence in themselves and their abilities as they prepare for the big transition to preschool. The program is designed to support parents and build a community of families of toddlers.
Practice Preschool is offered as a semester session for the Fall and Spring (3-4 months) and a shorter summer session (2 months). Payment plans are available during checkout.

Practice Preschool FAQs
Who is practice preschool for?
Practice Preschool is for toddlers 2 – 3 years old who are getting ready for preschool and haven’t been in a school or daycare environment. Students will learn social skills, the routines of a classroom, and gain independence.
What is the cost?
The cost of the program varies depending on the number of class dates within a session. The average monthly cost is $345 and there are payment plans available upon check out.
Where is the program?
The program takes place at the JCC Denver. You do not need to be a member or to be Jewish to participate. We do teach about the Jewish holidays and values but our families come from a wide range of backgrounds. We are not affilated with the JCC Early Learning school.
When is Practice Preschool offered?
Practice Preschool is offered for two mornings a week for 2 hours. We have Fall and Spring semesters as well as a shorter Summer session.
Is this a drop-off class?
The program provides a gradual separation experience for children getting ready to enter a typical preschool program. Some families are ready to start saying goodbye on the first day and other families slowly build up to the expected separation.
Parents/Caregivers are welcome to actively participate alongside their child in the classroom while keeping in mind the goal is for our students to gain independence and eventually attend without a parent/caregiver.
The teachers will support you through this process; it is a big step and we understand as parents ourselves! We have learned from experience what can be helpful in the transition and you know your child best. We will work together as a team to encourage your toddler’s growth, exploration, and socialization.
How do I register?
Please submit an application above. In your application, make sure to select which session you are interested in: Fall/Spring/Summer. When we know how many spots that we have available, we will reach out to families who have applied. We give preference to students currently enrolled in the program and then to families with a sibling already enrolled in the program.
Still curious? More information, including a family handbook, will be made available following registration.
