Shabbat Shalom Club (50+)

Description

Welcome to the Shabbat Shalom Club (50+) in partnership with OneTable Together. This group is modeled after “chavurah” (small community groups) to create warm, welcoming cohorts of individuals (aged 50+) who gather monthly to celebrate Shabbat, build community, and deepen relationships.

Have you always wanted friends with which to celebrate Shabbat rituals? Or perhaps you want to be a part of a chavurah but don’t belong to a synagogue? Apply now and form lasting connections.

How this program works:

1. Apply to join a cohort using the form below. Applicants will be contacted within 7 days regarding their acceptance and assigned to a cohort. Cohorts are grouped by geography and are designed to last between 5-8 months to ensure a meaningful and connected experience.

2. Register for the program and pay the $52 registration fee.

3. Attend the Welcome Shabbat at the JCC Denver at the start of the session. Receive your Shabbat schedule, meet your cohort, and enjoy your first Shabbat together.

4. Host either a dairy or meat meal for your Shabbat cohort. Get creative and have fun with it! You provide the rituals and food of your choosing. Ask you cohort members to contribute to the potluck with your specific menu needs.

5. Attend the other Shabbat dinners that your cohort will host. Shabbat dinners will occur once per month.

6. OPTIONAL: Attend the interactive learning workshops that are available only to particpants of the Shabbat Shalom Club (50+). Workshops may include a challah bake, kiddish cup glazing, ‘Shabbat Around the World’ lecture, and more.

7. Everyone has taken their turn as the “host.” The Shabbat Shalom Club (50+) program is almost over. Say goodbye to your cohort at the “L’hitraot” Brunch at the JCC Denver. You can stay in touch with one another or apply for the next cohort to meet a new chavurah and continue celebrating Shabbat in different ways.
