Infants

Our infant program is where it all begins. In the ELS infant program, your little one will start their journey of learning and discovery in a bright, loving, and inspiring environment. Not to mention, our infant program is a wonderful opportunity for families to create deeper and more meaningful relationships with teachers and peers. In addition to helping your infant meet developmental milestones, your tiny human will learn skills like:

How to interact with their environment
Communicating basic needs
Developing safe sleeping and eating habits

At the JCC Early Learning School, our infant program is rooted in relationships, responsiveness, and a deep respect for even our youngest learners. We see infants as capable, curious individuals who are actively making sense of their world through everyday experiences. We honor who they are now, not just who they are becoming.

Teachers build strong, trusting relationships by carefully observing and responding to each child’s cues, needs, and routines. Caregiving moments such as feeding, sleeping, and soothing are approached with intention, creating meaningful opportunities for connection, communication, and early learning. Teachers also incorporate simple sign language to support early communication, helping infants express their needs and begin to connect words, gestures, and meaning.

The environment plays an important role in our program. Classrooms are calm, inviting, and thoughtfully designed with open-ended materials and sensory experiences that encourage exploration and movement. Teachers observe and reflect on children’s interests, using those insights to guide responsive interactions and support development.

Partnership with families is essential. We work closely with parents to create continuity between home and school, supporting each child’s growth during this important stage.
