To Our Members and Guests,

We are excited to share that on Monday, November 4, construction began on an intergenerational garden that will be located on the south side of the JCC front lawn.

The project is funded by and named for the Strear and Pluss families. The garden will create a beautiful outdoor space for members and guests, and features a memorial for Debra Strear Aleinikoff. Part of the project will include developing a secured outdoor classroom space in which our Early Learning School students can explore and learn.

The first phase of the project will include removing the existing fence, prepping the land, building hardscapes, and in spring 2025, installing plant life.

The garden was designed by Elevated by Design, with installation by 303 Landscapes. Both partners have worked closely with us throughout the entire planning process.

During construction, workers will be wearing identification, so they are easily recognized. There may be some days where we need to adjust parking or routing of members through the front door. We will do our best to provide advance notice for any of these adjustments, in addition to sharing updates as the project proceeds.

Thank you for your understanding and support as we embark on creating this exciting new feature of the JCC. By next summer, we look forward to making this new outdoor space available to the entire community!
