Project Description

Beginning Mahjong – Seniors
Tuesdays, April 5 – May 10
12:30 – 3:30 pm

JCC Social Hall

Have you been curious about learning how to play Mahjong, or interested in brushing up on your skills? Here’s your chance to see what the appeal is and has been for so many generations. This 6-week course will start you from the beginning. You’ll learn to recognize the tiles and know their names, learn how the passing proceeds, and how to read the card. You’ll learn how to select a hand, develop offensive and defensive strategies and have lots of practice time to get up to speed. This class will prepare you for joyful playing for years to come. Class size is limited to 8 players at a time to ensure adequate attention to each student. We also host recreation time on Tuesdays in the Mizel reception room from 12:30 – 4:30 pm so you can shift into playing your games after this class.
