Mizel Arts & Culture Center:
Denver’s Creative & Cultural Hub

The Mizel Arts and Culture Center (MACC) at the JCC Denver illuminates the human experience through creative and cultural programs in the performing, visual, and literary arts for the Jewish community and the community at large.

The MACC serves nearly 100,000 people a year through a variety of programs and events that serve a broad demographic of cultural patrons. We strive to produce, present, exhibit, advance, and preserve the arts, serving as a performance and exhibition venue and as an educational resource for people at every stage of life.

Our annual events include exhibitions, concerts, films, author appearances, theatrical performances, and literary and film festivals. Facilities include the luxurious 400-seat Elaine Wolf Theatre, the 100-seat Pluss Theatre, a rehearsal studio, clay and art studios, and space for receptions and lectures.

VOLUNTEER AT THE MACC

Support the MACC by giving the gift of time! Our programs would not run without our wonderful volunteers. Our volunteers can do a wide array of duties; anything from film selection and adjudication to selling art during exhibits! Whatever your interest, you’ll find something to love at the Mizel Arts and Culture Center.

Support the Arts!

A festival sponsorship is a great way to spread the word about your business and helps us continue to run incredible programs and events.

Denver native Noah Gardenswartz is coming home in a big way this April, bringing two unique performances to the Mizel Arts and Culture Center. First, the filming of his newest comedy special on April 23, followed by headlining the Tight 5 Comedy Showcase on April 30. For the nationally acclaimed comedian, writer, and Denver-raised son of a very funny family, the chance to return to the Elaine Wolf Theatre is more than a tour stop; it’s a full‑circle moment...
Each spring, the Mizel Gallery fills with something special: artwork created right here in the JCC’s studios by local artists who gather weekly to explore their craft together. The Interactive Artists Group Annual Art Show is both a celebration of their work and an invitation for the wider community to experience the creativity happening inside the JCC.
Walk through the doors of the JCC Denver on any given day and you’ll see something that rarely happens in a museum or gallery. Children hurry toward ELS classrooms. Teens gather for rehearsal in the Elaine Wolf Theatre. Families and friends gather in the lobby. Members head to the fitness center. Conversations unfold in every corner. And quietly, all around them, art lives alongside these moments. The JCC is a living, breathing organism—not a museum...
Acclaimed Jewish musician and jazz legend Fred Hersch will headline the closing night of the Denver Jazz Fest in 2026, marking the culmination of a partnership that began more than two years ago at the Mizel Arts & Culture Center
Purim, known as the most joyous holiday on the Jewish calendar, is a story of bravery, advocacy, and heroism by two women: Queen Vashti and Queen Esther. The tale of Purim is one that challenges patriarchy and demonstrates the power of one's voice. The Purim story begins with a feast.....
