In 2014, Deena stumbled upon the game of Pickleball at a spa in Mexico and has been playing nonstop ever since. Deena was forced to abandon her 15 year tennis habit due to injury but, in Pickleball, she finally found the perfect replacement! She plays five times a week and has found introducing others to the fastest growing sport in the nation an undeniable calling.
As a twenty plus year supporter of the JCC Denver, Deena is thrilled to become its first Pickleball coordinator and is excited to design a topnotch Pickle Program for members and guests at the J. Deena will design a program that will evolve for players of all skill levels and all ages. Clinics and drop in play will be available immediately with tournaments and leagues to follow very shortly.
Deena Jonas has been an active member of the Denver Jewish community for over 25 years. She served on numerous agency boards and is an alumnus of the first Wexner Heritage Class in Denver. The mother of two adult children, she spent countless hours at the J, from preschool to Camp Shai, swim lessons, basketball leagues, Maccabi games, tennis lessons, MACC theater camp, Jewish film Festival…and, somehow she found time to become a lawyer as well.
