We are working to provide our members with the best talent possible to make your training and group exercise class experience at the JCC better than ever. This has been a tough year for all of us and some of our former staff had to make decisions that were best for them and/or their family and therefore are not returning at this time. However, you will still see plenty of friendly and familiar faces as you return to your regular fitness schedule.

No. Reservations are not required to enter the Fitness & Aquatics Center. Reservations are required for all group exercise classes. In addition, we will continue to offer a single lap lane in our outdoor pool that will be available for reservations by the hour. All other lap lanes will be available on a first come, first serve basis.

  • Masks are not required in any outdoor spaces at the J, including the Outdoor Pool and The Backyard, for those who are fully vaccinated.

  • Masks are required in the Family Locker Rooms for the safety and health of our children.
  • All staff will continue to wear their masks while indoors.
  • Vaccination cards will not be checked, so out of respect and for the safety of the entire community please wear your mask in all areas of the J if you are not vaccinated.

We are excited to continue offering programs through our Early Learning School and Camp Shai Learning Labs to support families during this time. Additionally, we are beginning to bring back in-person programming through our Engagement Department, working thoughtfully to re-introduce as many of our former programs as current guidelines and capacities allow. This summer we are excited to bring back our Junior Tennis Academy, Wolf Theatre Academy and Camp Shai summer campers on to the campus.

A new JCC leadership and fitness management team is in place focused and determined to provide our members with a top-notch experience. To provide exceptional service and a reliable fitness experience for all, we have partnered with WTS International, a 47-year-old company specializing in management services for fitness centers worldwide, including numerous other JCC fitness centers across the country. They have developed a comprehensive COVID-19 re-opening process, which has been used to open their other fitness centers across the country successfully and safely.

Judy Swesey, will continue as the JCC’s Membership Manager. While WTS International will oversee the Membership Sales team, Judy’s role will shift to more of a focus on member service. She will still be the main point of contact for our members as they seek additional information needed to continue on their entire JCC journey.

The capacity for classes will be displayed outside of each room. Currently, we are required to reduce capacity in group classes to 50% of their pre-COVID numbers. Some classes may have lower numbers if more space is required to keep members socially distanced. However, with CDC, state, and local guidelines changing each week, we will continue to monitor and adjust our safety protocols. What we have in place on opening day may change. Please continue to check back for more information as things evolve.

The Fitness & Aquatics Membership is separate from our JCC Tennis Membership. If you are interested in playing tennis, you will need to join the Tennis Center. Learn more about our Tennis Membership >>

If you are participating in yoga, we request that you bring your own mat. We understand not everyone owns a mat, so there will be mats available to borrow for class.

Pick-up basketball is allowed when the courts are available and as long as the current state and local guidelines allow for it. If you would like to play with a larger group of people or in a more organized fashion, we rent our courts out by the hour pending time and availability. Email us at rentals@jccdenver.org for pricing and more information.
