
Lap Swimming Open Year-Round
Lap swimming is one of the unique offerings that makes the JCC stand out from the pack. Available year-round, in both the heated outdoor pool and indoor pool, our lap swimming community is strong and vibrant. No matter where you are at in your fitness and health journey, lap swimming helps to burn calories, lose weight, and tone muscles, making it an excellent workout for a wide variety of individuals.
Lap lanes are designated for two swimmers per lane. Please be kind and share a lane so everyone has the chance to get their laps in. Lap swimming includes any motion moving in a forward direction from one end of the pool to the other and includes, freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly, side stroke or water running/walking.
Lap Lane Etiquette:
- If lane is occupied by one swimmer, dangle your legs in the water and let the other swimmer know you’re sharing this lane and wait until they acknowledge before getting in
- While swimming stay to the side of the lane
- Allow space when passing
- Rest in the corner of the lane
