The JCC Denver is excited to welcome you back to our annual Hanukkah extravaganza, Latkes and Lights! Prepare for those eight crazy nights by playing themed games, jamming to live music, tasting a variety of latkes from famous Denver restaurants as well as our very own community members, voting on your favorite handmade menorah, and so much more! This family and community event is for everyone. Bring your partner, family members, children, and neighbors to enjoy this festival of lights. Buy tickets while they last.

Makers Mart

Bring your shekels to buy all of your Hanukkah gifts in one place – at Latkes and Lights! Local makers will be selling their handmade items from $1 – $150. There will be art, tchotchkes, baked goods, and so much more!

Confirmed Guest Judges 2025:

Dylan Anderson and Rachel Shindman were the Community Latke winners in 2024. They stole the hearts of the community, recognized for their spicy green chili latkes as well as their bold, last-minute choice to enter the competition.

Chris Bianchi is 9NEWS’ Senior Meteorologist, and you can watch him on 9NEWS Mornings between 4:30 and 9am. In addition to his meteorological duties, Bianchi served as the voice of the University of Denver’s men’s and women’s soccer teams for several years. He also wrote about Colorado politics for “Westword.” Bianchi enjoys running, soccer, skiing, candy and his corgi, Penny, whom you’ll see frequently on his social media.

Sara Rosenthal is a freelance food and culture writer based in Denver.  In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, hot yoga, hiking and hanging out with her dog, Lucy. She is also a self-proclaimed latke expert, and is Team Applesauce all the way.

 

Community Latke Competition

Have you always thought your latkes are better than all the rest? We invite you to showcase them at Latkes and Lights by registering for the Community Latke Competition. The community will enjoy your latkes and vote on their favorites. Winners will receive a Golden Latke Trophy.
