Interested in working at Camp Shai this summer? We pride ourselves in making camp your BEST JOB EVER! We are currently seeking wonderful humans to join our 2024 team and you might be the right fit!   

Camp is the perfect environment for campers to develop their skills outside of the classroom and build their confidence – and yours too! Your work will make a difference in supporting campers to improve their ability to make and maintain friendships, increase their confidence to try new activities, and create a safe space for everyone to be themselves, campers and staff alike. Being a staff member at camp helps you to gain skills in a concrete, hands-on, and fun way!    

Become a Camp Counselor!
Do you love working with kids and want to improve your skillset? Our counselors work directly with campers every day to guide them through summer activities, provide mentorship and support as campers develop their skills, and make sure that campers are having a summer full of fun! Our counselor positions are perfect for individuals that have a passion for camping, and who are interested in working with children of all ages!  

Join the Inclusion Team!
Are you passionate about making camp accessible for children of all abilities? Our inclusion staff receive specialized training to work directly with campers who require additional support . Our inclusion positions are perfect for individuals who want to level up their experience working with kids in a more personalized setting. We also need leaders for this program to supervise staff and support our campers . If you think you are right for this position, please let us know!   

Become A Summer Instructor!
Do you love a particular subject matter and want to share this passion with others? Our instructors facilitate activities every day for campers in grades kindergarten through grade 6 in an engaging, hands-on learning environment that is fun! Our instructor positions are perfect for individuals who are looking to develop their teaching skills among a variety of grade levels.

Are you looking to improve your management experience and see how camp is run behind the scenes? Bio for Campers:
This is Sarah’s second summer at Camp Shai and she is so excited to continue getting to know the community and creating an unforgettable experience for campers. At camp, you can find Sarah walking around campus in a variety of silly costumes with a number of fun camp songs up her sleeve. In fact, you may have confused her last summer with a great white shark, her favorite costume. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, reading books about history, and spending time with her cat, Commissioner Jim Gordon. 

Bio for Parents:
Sarah has been working in the summer camp industry since her first job as a Junior Counselor when she was 15 years old. She has many years of experience working at both day camps and residential camps. Most recently, she worked as the Camp Director at a day camp focused on STEM learning in Chicago, IL. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in International Studies from Indiana University (Go Hoosiers!) and a Master’s Degree in Education from Northwestern University (Go Wildcats!).

Bio for Campers:
This was Cory’s first summer at Camp Shai and she is so excited to continue the fun next summer! She loved getting to know all the campers in Summer 2023, specifically singing “Boker Tov!” every day during Morning Circle. Her favorite camp song is “Herman the Worm”, he’s always up to no good eating everything in sight! Outside of camp, you can find her hiking, going to concerts, exploring Denver, traveling, and throwing a tennis ball with her dog, Teddy.

 

Bio for Parents:
Cory spent seven summers in Nashville, TN there specializing in Overnight Camp programs, dressing in costumes, chanting camp songs, & working with campers and staff from all over the world. She also served as a Youth Activities Counselor for less than a year with Disney Cruise Lines cruising internationally alongside the most lively animated characters and kids. Before moving to Colorado, I worked at a local Science Museum in Nashville as the Program Coordinator, managing the STEM-based Summer Day Camp program, reserving field trips, & coordinating an annual Robotic Competition for local students & teams. She graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation Administration from Western Kentucky University. GO TOPS!

Bio for Campers:
This is Courtney’s seventh summer at Camp Shai, and she has many more under her belt prior to that. Courtney’s favorite parts of camp are Survivor and Sports (especially floor hockey). Her favorite camp song is “Ravioli”. In her free time, Courtney enjoys hanging out with her dogs, hiking, and skiing. She is currently singing all of the morning circle songs on repeat to her 1-year-old daughter to get her ready for Camp Shai 2026!  

Bio for Parents:
Courtney is a Denver native, growing up attending JCC Ranch Camp. She caught the “camp bug” early on in life and she can think of no better way to spend the summer!  Courtney has a Master’s degree in Social Work and Non-Profit Management and loves working with campers and staff development. Her preferred title (in life) is the Camp Fairy Godmother.
