Ceramics Mixed Levels: Handbuilding & Wheel
This class is designed for beginners and for those who want to improve their handbuilding and wheel skills. This class will provide hands-on instruction covering the fundamentals and mixed level skills of the wheel – wedging, centering, throwing larger, and handbuilding including- pinching, coiling, sculpting, slabwork techniques.
Ceramics Beginners: Wheelthrowing
This class is designed for beginners and for those who want to improve their basic throwing skills. Come get your hands dirty in this fun and thorough introduction to throwing clay on the wheel! This class will provide hands-on instruction covering the fundamentals of wedging clay, centering, opening, pulling up, and shaping your pots.
Stained Glass Mixed Levels
Designed for students with basic stained-glass experience, but open to those who do not have experience, this mixed-level class offers a balance of independence and instructor support. Participants will focus on individual projects while receiving guidance and learning new techniques to enhance their skills. Tools and materials are provided, making it an ideal space for continued practice and creative growth.
Watercolor and Open Studio for Mixed Media
This is a hybrid class where students will learn watercolor alongside established mixed media artists who will be working in an open studio setting.
Explore the magic of watercolor and learn new ways to use design, color, shape and composition. Learn to develop your own imagination and ideas into your personal creative expression in an encouraging atmosphere. Individual and group guidance is offered to both beginning and experienced students. This class will have space available for open studio for mixed media.
Drawing and Colored Pencils
In this course, participants will develop foundational and intermediate drawing skills through the study and practice of key artistic principles, including shape construction, proportion, scale, composition, texture, and detail.
Students will explore techniques for creating depth, value, and realism through the application of analogous color blending and intentional directional pencil strokes.
Through observation and guided instruction, participants will strengthen their technical abilities while building confidence in visual representation.
Subject matter will include still life, botanical studies, landscapes, animals, and portraiture, providing opportunities to apply drawing concepts across a variety of artistic contexts.
Painting
Learn to develop paintings using a wide variety of ideas and techniques. In an enriching and creative environment explore design, color, composition and spontaneity. Individual instruction is offered for all skill levels, with a supply list provided on the first day.
Interactive Artists Group
A space to create art for the established artist. Work independently or with the support of an instructor. Approval required to join this class.
Teens of the Clay
Juventud del Barro – Teens of the Clay: Remembering Tradition through Geology and Clay was supported by the Innovation and Collaboration Grant from The Collaborative of the SCFD—a nonprofit membership organization comprised of SCFD funded arts, culture, and science nonprofits.

This class is for those who are looking to master a specific skill with 1-1 instructor attention. We will pair you with a subject matter expert in the area that you are looking to build fluency in.
Birthday Parties
Throw your next birthday party with the help of a teaching artist and a little clay. Birthday parties are thrown in the Arts Studio with food and drink available in a separate room.
Clay Teens: Wheel
In this ceramics class, your teen will learn the basics of working on a pottery wheel.
Clay Kids: Wheel
This course introduces the fundamentals of ceramics through hands-on, assignment-based learning.
