This year marks an exciting new chapter as the Mizel Arts and Culture Center teams up with Denver’s legendary Comedy Works to deliver an unforgettable night of laughter, fresh talent, and community connection. Building New Voices, One Five-Minute Set at a Time

Tight Five has quickly grown into a cherished program at the Mizel Arts and Culture Center, offering participants the chance to refine their comedic voice, strengthen their writing, and take the stage with confidence. The program guides aspiring comics through the fundamentals of stand-up, from premise development and timing to delivery, persona, editing, and the uniquely personal process of turning life experience into something that makes an audience lean in and laugh.

At the end of the program, participants perform a polished five-minute set before a live audience, transforming the classroom experience into a professional-caliber performance opportunity. For first-timers and rising comics alike, it is a supportive and adrenaline-filled introduction to the world of stand-up.
