Todah Raba

We have all written them and we have all received them: thank you letters. We send them for small things, for birthday and wedding presents. We email them to distant relatives for attending our child’s Bat Mitzvah. We handwrote them from our bunkbed at overnight camp to thank our parents for helping make the best summer of our life happen, then to ask them to send more candy in the next care package. Now, it’s our turn to say thank you to you – our beloved JCC community.

Community, connection, and a whole lot of fun. Last year’s Todah celebration brought everyone together with oversized games, laughter, and meaningful moments

Thank you for believing in our mission; for allowing us to serve you throughout every life stage, from baby to bubbe. Thank you for gathering with us; for breathing life into our space with every bingo game, canvas painted, and lap swam. Thank you for supporting us; for donating your time, energy, and money to help us accomplish this work for which we are so passionate. Thank you for being the heart of the J; your story, your history, and your connection to Jewish life is what makes the JCC Denver beautiful and unique.

Let us share our gratitude in person as we celebrate you – our community members – at our annual celebration, Todah. Todah, which translates to thank you in Hebrew, is a night of community, joy, gratitude, and celebration of every person that steps through the doors at the JCC Denver. On November 15, join us for music, dancing, connection, and a transformative surprise. Mike Kboudi, JCC Board Chair, and his wife Toni, will be the hosts for the evening. Mike shares, “We love hosting events where there is an opportunity to be surrounded by both our close friends and family as well as the greater community. It’s a real pleasure to watch everyone enjoying this festive and celebratory experience at the JCC.”

Mike Sophir, the CEO of the JCC Denver, explains how Todah is not your traditional fundraising event. “Although we are still selling sponsorships and tickets to support the JCC, the Mizel Arts and Culture Center, and all of the programs and services offered at the J, Todah is unconventional because it’s more of a thank you celebration. We want the room to be filled with people of all generations and components like the sliding scale ticket pricing will allow for that! We fundraise beforehand so this can be the moment for the community to come together. We want everybody there, and I think everybody will want to be there,” Mike shares. Funds raised for Todah go to the areas of greatest need, from programming to facilities. Todah is one night, but the impact of giving will be felt throughout the entire year.
