Lovin’ Summer at the JCC

Wondering what to do with your summer? We have some ideas. Whether you’re looking for an inspiring class, one-off event, poolside vibes, or a new exercise regimen, there’s something for you at the JCC.

Classes

No matter the season, class offerings at the JCC are broad and cater to many interests. Hoping to dip your toes in the art of ceramics? Join our Wheelthrowing class for beginners, or try out the Mixed Levels Ceramics class if you already have some experience! For the art-centric families out there, we highly recommend signing up for the JCC + La Paloma Glass Present: Stained Glass with your Family. This class will guide you and your family through the art of stained glass creation, and you’re sure to leave with a smile on your face. Other art offerings range from Gold Luster Workshops, to Woven Wall hangings, to One-timers ceramics classes – perfect for date night or an afternoon with friends!

As with each season, summer presents a chance to brush up on your baking skills. From babka, to challah, to Sephardic breads for brunch, the JCC Kitchen is the place to learn new techniques, and connect with Jewish tradition through your taste buds. Check out our class offerings here!

Last but not least, we’re excited to be offering a new art opportunity for youngsters: Artistic Kids Camp! With four different week-long sessions, each with its own unique theme, your artistic camper will get to explore different mediums and methods of creating art, surrounded by like-minded peers and inspiring teachers. Brush up on the details and registration information on our website.

Events

The JCC will be kicking off summer the right way – with a celebration of Pride at PrideFest Denver! Join us for a weekend of festivities honoring the LGBTQIA+ community by attending Pride Shabbat at the JCC, visiting us at the Jewish Community Booth in Civic Center Park, or marching with us in the Pride Parade. If you’re interested in volunteering for shifts at the Jewish Community Booth, contact Daniel via email for more information.

Once you’ve recovered from the excitement of Pride, shimmy over to the Fitness Center for a Community Zumba event on July 15 where we’ll be cutting a rug and burning some calories. Why pass up a chance to move and groove?

Oh, and what’s better than a bike ride with friends? A bike ride with friends and BAGELS. Join Daniel Seigel on July 30 for the Jewish Deli Bike Tour, your chance to pedal and nosh your way across Denver.

Summer Membership

Looking for an excuse to soak up some rays and have some quality family time? The JCC Summer Family Membership was made for you. For $649, you and your family will have access to both Indoor and Outdoor pools (both with brand-new, upgraded filtration systems, heating systems, and surfacing!), the Fitness Center, group fitness classes, and more. Fitness Opportunities

Wherever you are in your fitness journey, the JCC Fitness Center is here to give you the boost you need. Take part in our 6-week Summer Shred Challenge, during which you will be guided by a personal trainer, have access to regular InBody scans to more accurately track your progress, and have the chance to win great prizes (and bragging rights!). Also new this summer is the JCC Running Club, which meets every Wednesday morning at 7:00 am. Whether you’re a new runner, laid-back jogger, or looking to get some serious miles in, this group is a perfect way to meet other running fanatics.

Camps

Let’s not forget, summer break is the perfect opportunity for your youngster to meet new people, learn new skills, and make memories that will last their lifetime. Signing your child up for one of our JCC Summer Camps will guarantee your child a chance to explore the Colorado outdoors and discover new creative disciplines. There are still spots open for select programs and sessions, such as Ranch Camp Equestrian program, and Camp Shai programs such as Sports of all Sorts, Space Creature Art, and Woodworking. Don’t pass up a chance to enroll your child in one of the top-ranked summer camps in the country!
