It’s no secret that Coloradans are proud of their home state. There’s so much to be grateful for as a Colorado resident; our beautiful Rocky Mountains, omnipresent sunshine, unbeatable powder days, and so many craft breweries. But what really makes Colorado a special place to live?

The collective commitment our community has toward supporting non-profit organizations that exist to help and serve others.

Colorado Gives Day was born from this sense of community camaraderie. Since its beginning in 2010, Colorado Gives Day has become Colorado’s biggest 24-hour giving event, and can be credited for raising more than $362 million for non-profits statewide. This donating event provides an opportunity for Coloradans to come together and support their local non-profits, enriching and nurturing our present and future.

This year, donations made between November 1 and December 6 will qualify for a boost from the $1.4 million incentive fund; thanks to the generosity of community partners across the state, your donation can go even farther. It goes without saying, this is a giving opportunity you won’t want to miss!

The JCC Denver has, for 100 years now, been a champion of community generosity, and we are ecstatic to be participating in Colorado Gives Day.

As said by Tyler Drum, Development Coordinator at the J, “Our JCC donors go above and beyond to support the J every day of the year, but especially on Colorado Gives Day. Every nonprofit that receives a donation on Colorado Gives Day will get a piece of the incentive fund; the more donations we get, the bigger our share of the fund will be, which means even more money is going to help our kids and seniors at the J!”

Of all the services provided by the JCC, the most potent are the programs aimed at supporting our seniors and young families. All donations made before the year’s end will go directly toward maintaining these critical resources. Programs like Baby Café, Jewish Baby University, and senior services (especially games of Mahjong!), were sorely missed during the pandemic shut down, and it is imperative that we continue offering these services. No matter the amount, your generosity in donating will have a direct effect on our elders and young families.

“Every person, no matter what their wealth, is equally capable of practicing generosity.” – Thich Nhat Hanh

To donate, (and have your donation qualify for the incentive boost!) go to the JCC’s Colorado Gives Day page, and make your donation before midnight tonight. You can still donate until the end of the year, but a contribution today will help us go the extra mile for our seniors and young families!
