This week’s edition of “In The Loup” provides a peak into our primary annual fundraising event of the year, the JCC Annual Celebration.
On September 12, we will host the JCC Annual Celebration. The JCC Annual Celebration is our major fundraising event of the year where we honor individuals from the community who have made an impact on our community and the Center as a whole.
What is unique about this year’s event is that we will be hosting it at the JCC’s Outdoor Pool. Typically held at a downtown hotel, we decided that it was imperative to bring the Celebration – and our community – back on to our campus this year, together again, since COVID didn’t allow us to gather at the J for over a year.
Jerry Glick will be honored with the Robert E. Loup Hineni Award for his outstanding leadership. “Jerry has played an instrumental role in the success of the JCC over the last several years as an advocate for the transaction in 2018 when the Rose Community Foundation purchased the JCC Denver Campus,” said JCC Board Chair Ed Nekritz.
In addition to recognizing Jerry for his efforts to ensure the J will be around for generations to come, we are delighted to honor the entire JCC Staff with the Gerald S. Gray Service & Leadership Award for their valiant efforts and hard work during a pandemic. As we all know, 2020 was a trying year for everyone, and especially for an organization focused on community gathering. It forced us to change how we communicate, challenged us to rethink what the word “gather” means, and tested our will to continue providing services when we couldn’t connect in person. This would not have been possible without each and every individual that works at the J. The staff is dedicated to serving each and every one of our community members without question, and the Board is grateful.
While we hope you are able to join us on September 12 to celebrate both award recipients, we are working on ways to provide an opportunity to show your support of either Jerry or the Staff if you are unable to attend.
