Okay, so Purim isn’t until Monday, March 9, but we have some great events coming up (two are FREE!) that we’re dying to share with you.
Ahhh…Purim. Hamantashen, crazy costumes, Purim spiels…what’s not to love? Check out these awesome events we have coming up this week at the J in honor of Purim:
1. Hamantashen Baking – March 6 at 10:00 am, FREE
On Friday morning, get your Purim weekend started at the JCC as we make some delicious Hamentashen!
We’ll be making apricot, cherry, and poppy seed (gluten free options are available). After baking these tasty treats, we will share our creations with the seniors from Jewish Family Service at lunch (as well as some for yourself).
All ages are welcome to this fun, free event.
2. LGBTQIA+ Drag Royalty Purim Bingo – March 7 at 7:00 pm
ConDRAGulations––you’re officially invited to the Purim Party of the year (and maybe even the decade). Join us Saturday evening as we play Bingo and party the night away with some local drag entertainment. Costumes are strongly encouraged and prizes will be awarded to the winners (costume and Bingo).
This event is for individuals 21+ and is open to everyone! Space is limited, so please register ASAP to secure your spot.

Also…though not a total “Purim” event, we do have a fun get-together that will help kick off your Purim festivities…
3. Schmooze and Booze – March 5 at 5:30 pm, FREE
Thirsty Thursdays just got even better. Join our community at Zuni Street Brewing Company at 5:30 pm this Thursday to connect with old friends and make new ones! Your first drink is on us and it’s free to attend. If you’re able to make it, please be sure to register!
Anyone and everyone is welcome to attend this event, so grab your coworkers and make it an after-work happy hour.
Purim is one of our favorite holidays here at the J and we hope to celebrate with you and yours during this festive season.
