Amy Weiner Weiss is an expert on all things DJFF – she plans the festival, after all!

We were lucky enough to have her list 10 great reasons to fall in love with DJFF this year, and every year.

1. This is our largest film festival to date!

The 2019 Denver Jewish Film Festival presented by the Sturm Family Foundation features 44 films from 18 countries, in a world of formats: documentaries, narratives, shorts, television episodes, even a web series! With encore screenings and year-round programming with the Denver Film Society, the Alamo Drafthouse Denver, and other cinemas around town, our festival’s footprint is expanding both geographically and throughout the calendar year.

2. Our festival programming brings some of the best international art-house films to Denver while supporting emerging and underrepresented filmmakers.

We are immensely proud of the fact that female filmmakers created 13 of this year’s films, and that we are screening eight feature-film debuts. The quality of our content speaks for itself – four of our films were their countries’ submission for the 2019 Best Foreign Language Oscar.

3. We are premiering 30 films for the very first time in all of Colorado, and in most cases in the entire Rocky Mountain region.

Plus, an additional 10 films get their Mile High Premiere at the Denver Jewish Film Festival this year.
