Rachel is the new Director of Early Childhood Engagement…

And while she’s not new in our building, we’re excited to announce her new position and introduce her to our community! Rachel is a ray of light to families all across Denver with her outstanding knowledge of childcare and her warm, caring demeanor. Get to know our very own JCC Wonder Woman: Rachel Cram.

What made you want to work at the JCC’s ECE/ELS?

Rachel: I worked in an Early Headstart program in an infant room through Americorps and loved the world of Early Childhood Education. When a position opened in the infant room (the first year we had an infant room) I jumped at the opportunity. Through teaching in the infant, toddler and 2-year-old rooms, I fell in love with the JCC and the school itself. I was excited to be a part of the journey that the school was on and soon became immersed with the culture of the center.

Has the JCC always been a part of your life?

RC: Yes, I grew up in Greeley and my family would come to Denver to come to the JCC – I remember coming to an Israeli Independence celebration here at the JCC when I was 8 years old!

What’s your favorite thing about working with little kids?

RC: It’s hard to pick a favorite, as I love all things about children. I think the greatest part of my job is to be surrounded by curiosity and creativity all day long.

When you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up?

RC: I wanted to be a movie star or at the very least be on Broadway.

In this new year, what are you most excited about?

RC: I am excited for the big milestones my family is hitting this year – my oldest daughter is starting Kindergarten in the fall and my youngest will be turning one the summer before that happens!

What’s something most people don’t know about you?

RC: I played football in high school. It taught me that I can do anything I put my mind to – I keep a picture in my office of me in my uniform to remind myself of that.

We are thrilled to have Rachel as a part of our team and we can’t wait to see all the wonderful things she’s able to accomplish in 2018.

Go get ‘em, Rachel!
