Have Family Camp on the brain?

Well, if you don’t now, we promise The Harmon Family will quickly change that. We sat down with the Harmons to take a closer look at what makes their experience with Family Camp so special.

How long have you and your family attended Family Camp?

Annie: We have attended every year since 2013, and our daughter, Edina attended Baktanna last year.

What made you want to attend Family Camp?

AH: I had grown up going to Ranch Camp. I loved camp so much and wanted to share the camp experience with my family. It is so special to see everyone enjoying the JCC campgrounds as much as I did as a kid.

What is your favorite part of partaking in Family Camp?

AH: We love everything! Usually, there is too much to do and we can’t get everything we love in such a short weekend. However, as the kids have gotten older, our highlights have changed. It used to be the hikes, arts and crafts, camp fires and horseback riding. Now we also have added in archery and high ropes course and we all love it! Also, this is a way that we can go camping as a family but still have running water, restrooms, heated buildings, guided activities, great food and good company.

If a family were on the fence about participating in Family Camp, what advice would you have for them?

AH: If you are looking for a fun weekend for your family to have fun together as well as a fun way to meet other families in the Jewish community, this is an amazing way to connect with others.

What are you and your family most looking forward to this summer?

AH: Camp, of course ;)

Families like the Harmons radiate positivity and friendliness to each and every person they meet. Their beautiful children have been known to put a smile or two on a stranger’s face and their vibrant laughter is what Family Camp is all about.

We can’t wait to see the Harmons this summer at Family Camp!
