"I can see that you’ve got quite a mind for your age! Why, one Think and you dragged me right onto the stage! Now, I’m here, there is no telling what may ensue With a Cat such as me, and a Thinker like you!" So says the mischievous Cat in the Hat at the onset of this fantastical, magical, musical extravaganza! Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty (Once On This Island and Ragtime) have lovingly brought to life all of our favorite Dr. Seuss characters, including Horton the Elephant, Gertrude McFuzz, Lazy Mayzie and all of the Whos ofWhoville! These classic, colorful tales are seamlessly brought together by JoJo, a young boy and "thinker of strange and wonderful thinks." As each story unfolds you will marvel at the relevance and profundity of Seuss’s subtle and universal themes. This musical is truly appealing to audiences of all ages. The score emerges as a Seussian gumbo of musical styles, ranging from Latin to pop, swing to gospel, and R&B to funk. So let your toes tap, your fingers snap and your imagination run wild!

A new adventure in Neverland! Join us as we explore Gail Carson Levine’s book set in Peter Pan’s famous magic realm. Prilla, the newest fairy to arrive in Neverland, doesn’t know what her talent is or how she will fit into life in Fairy Haven. Mother Dove, the wisest creature in Neverland, thinks Prilla has a talent, but doesn’t know what it is. A diabolical hurricane, a selfish fairy, Captain Hook, snobby mermaids, a fierce golden hawk and the evil dragon Kyto combine in a tantalizing elixir that tests Mother Dove's wisdom, Tink's courage, and Prilla's mettle. From the classic series by Newbery Medal-winning author Louis Sachar (Holes) comes stories from the very strange Wayside School. Instead of 30 one-story classrooms in a row, it was built as a small skyscraper – with one classroom on each of 30 stories. “The builder said he was very sorry.” From their first teacher, the evil Mrs. Gorf – who turns children into apples – to their current teacher, the nice, but rather odd Mrs. Jewls, the classroom on the 30th floor has had some pretty strange things going on of late. With students like Bebe, who draws 378 pictures during art class, to John, who reads upside-down, to the sleepy Sharie, to the itchy Dana, to nasty Kathy and smelly Sammy – this is a classroom like you have never experienced before. With multiple fun roles for all student actors, this summer workshop is sure to provide a dramatic experience for all. Students who sign up for this class must register for Supervised Lunch for the week of Aug. 4–8: SLUNCHW10 (click here).
