Pilates (pronounced pi-lah-teez) is a dynamic, non-impact fitness exercise program that combines stretching and strengthening movements with elements of weight training and breath work. Pilates builds core strength, elongates and balances the muscular system, brings the body into proper alignment and increases balance and flexibility.
Whether you’re looking to eliminate chronic back, knee, hip or neck pain, build core strength, improve your balance, coordination and agility or take your athletic performance to another level, Pilates is the perfect whole body workout.

Getting Started Package:
This package is for those who have never taken Pilates on a machine. Because of the unique movements and specialized equipment in the Pilates program, fundamental sessions are mandatory for participation on the Allegro. This package is $350* for seven 50-minute sessions. Once you have completed the Getting Started Package, Pilates classes** are available to both Sports & Fitness members and non-members.
* Non members are at a different rate.
**General classes may not be suitable for individuals with conditions or needs that may affect the ability to attend group classes. Those with special conditions should have a consultation to determine abilities.
Group Allegro Classes:
After completion of the Getting Started Package, graduates are able to take beginner classes. In order to move on to intermediate and/or advanced classes, members are required to take private sessions (within their own time frame). For further information regarding class levels please contact Rachel Brown at rbrown@jccdenver.org.
It is easy to register for classes online at www.jccdenver.org (up to four hours in advance). We offer four-session packages for $48 or you can drop-in for $12 (based on availability). Updated class schedules can be found online or at the Sports & Fitness Center.
Advanced Chair, Tower and Combo classes:
After mastering beginner, intermediate and advanced allegro classes, we encourage those ready for a bigger challenge to move up the Pilates ladder to advanced classes with Chair, Tower and Combo classes. Scheduling additional private or semi-private sessions to learn advanced techniques with a Pilates personal trainer is required. The ability to master movements depends on the individual and there is no set time for moving up to harder classes.
Pilates Specialty Program:
Throughout the year the Denver JCC Pilates program offers Pilates specialty classes such as Tennis, Golf, Ski and Boot Camp conditioning programs which are equipment based.
For more information regarding Pilates specialty programs contact Rachel Brown at rbrown@jccdenver.org.
