A new directory puts members in touch with member-owned businesses and services
Your harddrive crashes. Some roof tiles blow off in a storm. The dog suddenly starts limping. You know you need to take care of situations like these and others like them sooner rather than later, but sometimes it’s difficult to act immediately because you don’t know where to go for help.Wouldn’t it be nice to have a directory of experts, trusted professionals at your fingertips?
Well, your wish is granted! The JCC is pleased to introduce its latestmember service, the JCCMember Business 2 Business Directory. This guide, provided to allmembers for free, contains listings of businesses and services owned by other members.
The resource is designed to help members in two ways. First, members in need of services will have a new resource. Second, members who wish to grow their business have a new advertising avenue.
Connecting JCC members in yet another way to help each other is one of driving forces behind producing the guide. As Janice Silver, marketing director, says “Only members can advertise within this publication. This directory is an opportunity for our members to advertise their business or services to nearly 5,500 members.”
Honoring the notion of “community” is another driving force. Stuart Raynor, executive director, citing Deuteronomy 1:10, (“A community is too heavy for anyone to carry alone”), notes that “fostering community” is one of the JCC’s missions. “We believe there is value to belonging beyond participating in our many programs and events. In publishing this directory,we hope that next time you’re in need of personal services or local businesses, you’ll look within these covers and utilize a professional in our community.”
The premier issue will arrive inserted in your next issue of In the Loup, the July/August publication. Thereafter, the directory will published three times a year—winter, spring and summer. Additional copies will be displayed on the “information wall” in the newly remolded JCC lobby as well.
