Dear JCC members,

I am writing to give you an update about the status of the outdoor swimming pool. Last Wednesday and Thursday the pool was closed to due to the water temperature being too cold for safe swimming. It was determined that an electric relay stopped working. This relay’s job is to translate the thermostat’s set temperature to the heater to heat the pool water. The relay was replaced on Thursday and the pool heated up and was open Friday and through the weekend.

Early this morning, the pool temperature was down below safe swimming temperature again. Our staff called in the mechanical company who did the repairs last week to fix the problem. This time, the problem was that the sensor that measures the water temperature was not working properly.

We are working to find a new temperature sensor and hope to replace the part quickly. In the meantime, we have calibrated the thermostat by setting it to a higher temperature so that the pool heats with a sensor that is reading incorrectly.
We are working to get the pool temperature up so that it can be used. We are very sorry for the inconvenience of having the pool closed. If you have any questions about the pool status, please let me know.

Thank you for your patience,

Ben Goldstein
