Event Details

Holocaust Remembrance Day (Yom HaShoah) commemorates the millions who died and those who lived on. This year, let us remember together. Join us for a virtual Zikaron BaSalon with guest speakers Bob Kahn and Hedy Mantel.

Bob Kahn was born in Mainz Germany in 1931 and was present in his home when the Gestapo came during Krystalnacht and arrested his father. Bob lived in Germany until 1939, when his family moved to New York.  Bob took medical training in the US and practiced in Colorado and Wyoming until his recent retirement. He and his wife (who escaped Italy as a young child) have lived in Colorado for 56 years.

Hedy Mantel was born in Oradea, Romania in 1947 and lived there until she was 18 years old. Her parents and most of her friends’ parents had survived the Holocaust in concentration camps. Hedy came to the United States in 1965, attended Engineering School in Michigan and moved to Colorado in 2009. She remains in contact with many of her childhood friends.
