Have You Heard of Futsal?
Futsal, like indoor soccer, is a fast-paced, fun sport that offers a great opportunity for campers to develop soccer skills all year-round regardless of weather.
Played using a smaller and slightly heavier ball, on the gymnasium courts using smaller goals and field sizes, Futsal gives athletes a chance to develop footwork and passing skills as well as moving the ball down the pitch with control.
If your camper feels the need for speed and likes soccer, this is the sport for them! Skills are easily transferable to other sports.
The Walk for Israel and Celebrate Family Festival needs your help!
More than 70 volunteers, ages 13 – 99, are needed to ensure the success of this year’s event. The event will be held from 9:30 am – 2:00 pm at the DCPA Sculpture Park in downtown Denver.
Surviving the Holocaust
A Conversation with Jack Welner
In 1940, Nazis took a slum area of Poland’s second largest city, Lodz, and surrounded it with barbed wire and forced 160,000 Jews inside.
Jack and his family, were locked inside the prison-like Lodz Ghetto. They all believed they were going to Germany to work, because that is what the soldiers told them. Suddenly they found themselves in Auschwitz, a Jewish concentration camp.
Join Jack as he tells his remarkable story of survival. This event is free.

Happy Mother’s Day!
From all of us at The J, we would like to wish those who celebrated yesterday a very wonderful and happy Mother’s Day!
“No language can express the power, and beauty, and heroism, and majesty of a mother’s love. It shrinks not where man cowers, and grows stronger where man faints, and over wastes of worldly fortunes sends the radiance of its quenchless fidelity like a star.”
~Edwin Hubbell Chapin

Gym Schedules Now Available!
Ever come to the J hoping to use the gym and realize it’s in use and your whole workout routine is ruined? After listening to your feedback and realizing this has been an issue, we created a gym schedule so our members know when the gym is available for open use or reserved for scheduled events or leagues.
Printed schedules are available for pickup at the Fitness Desk or in front of the locker rooms. Or, download a digital version on our website.
