Let’s Write With Susan Jacobs

Mondays from 9-11 a.m

Seniors in the JCC’s Let’s Write class put pen to paper under the guidance of Susan Jacobs, who holds a degree in gerontology, and who has volunteered at the JCC for over twenty-five years. Jacobs suggests a theme or topic, sometimes bringing in a picture or a poem for inspiration. Following a discussion of the topic, the class gets down to work, producing writing that is spontaneous, inventive and heartfelt. The last portion of each session is devoted to reading aloud and responding to each writing selection.

This is more than a writing group. It’s an opportunity for seniors to share their life experience—Susan Jacobs

Homebound Participation

Without diluting the spontaneous format that is the basis of the process, the class invites participation from members of the community who are unable to attend in person. To learn more about this exciting opportunity, please contact us.
