Families
Shalom Family serves Jewish families by guiding them through the continuum of JCC classes, as well as life in our Jewish community. Through holiday celebrations, Jewish parenting education and family activities, the program enables members of our community to create vibrant Jewish homes.
We have a variety of classes and programs being offered. Remember, pre-registration is required for all classes. Please contact Melanie Gruenwald, Family Programs Director at mgruenwald@jccdenver.org or 303-316-6325 to register.

September 13–17.
Now offering late afternoon and weekend Move and Learn classes!
You’ve asked and we’ve listened…Music classes will be offered on Tuesday afternoons and Sunday mornings and tumbling will be held on
Thursday afternoons and Sunday mornings, in addition to our regularly scheduled morning classes.
Rachel Greengard-Galt returns this fall as our weekday morning music and movement teacher.

She holds a BFA in Theatre Performance from Chapman University and an MBA from CU Denver. Monthly Family Programming coming to the South suburbs
In an effort to serve the growing numbers of families living in the South Denver suburbs, the JCC Family Programs department is working hard to create programming for these families. Programs will include music and pre/post-natal Yogalates classes, social events, Shabbat dinners and more. If you are interested in connecting with other young Jewish families this is a great option! Our fall events, such as a “Pizza Party in the Sukkah”, a Shabbat cooking class, and a Hanukkah celebration, will give you fun, easy and inexpensive ways to gather with friends and meet some new people. Please see details under “South Programming” on page 11–12. If you would like to be
on an email list for upcoming events or are interested in volunteering to make these programs happen, please contact Jill Katchen, (303) 316-6336 or jkatchen@jccdenver.org.
New fee scale for Family Programs and classes…
Starting in September 2010, The Family Programs department will charge program participants who show up at the door, non-member pricing which is 20% higher. This is to encourage families to make reservations ahead of time so that we are able to plan accordingly for our programs. Starting this October, we will also allow families to “drop in” on a Move and Learn class for $14 (normally $12) per class, as long as that class already has the minimum number of participants needed to run the class. Reservations are required to attend a class, in order to limit class sizes. Please contact Jill Katchen, (303) 316-6336 or jkatchen@jccdenver.org.
