· Swim Safe Academy is our small group swim lesson program. Children are divided into small groups by age and ability. Our program emphasizes comfort and enjoyment in the water while also developing stroke technique and lifelong swim skills.

Shrimps (6mo-3yr)
This class is for young children and their parents. The class is designed to teach parents how to have fun with their baby in the water while also introducing important swim skills. Swimmers will work on comfort in the water, floating and gliding with eyes in the water for a short distance.

Lobsters (24-36mo)
This level is for swimmers who have graduated the Shrimps level. In this class children swim without their parents in the water and work on unassisted floating, scooping arms and flutter kicks.

Jellyfish (3-5yr)
This level is for the beginning swimmer. Students will learn to float on their front and back as well as how to comfortably go underwater. We emphasize safety and confidence while setting the foundation for more advanced skills.

Squid (3-5yr)
This level is for the swimmer who is comfortable in the water and can float independently. In this class, students will begin to learn streamlining, freestyle and the foundations of backstroke.

Octopus (3-5yr)
This level is for children who can consistently swim freestyle and are ready to start learning side breathing. Students will also work on backstroke progression and be introduced to breaststroke and butterfly kick.

Platypus (6-12yr)
This level is for the beginning swimmer. Students will learn to float on their front and back as well as how to comfortably go under water. We emphasize safety and confidence while setting the foundation for more advanced skills.

Otter (6-12yr)
This level is for the swimmer who is comfortable in the water and can float independently. In this class, students will begin to learn streamlining, freestyle, and the foundations of backstroke. Students will become more independent in the water as they gain skills.

Manatee (6-12yr)
This level is for children who can consistently swim freestyle and are ready to start learning side breathing so they can increase their distance. Students will also work on backstroke progression and be introduced to breaststroke and butterfly kick.

Hippo (6-12yr)
Students in this level have learned to swim freestyle while breathing to one side; students are now ready to learn how to breathe to the opposite side. Swimmers will also continue to work on their breaststroke and butterfly by adding the correct arms to their kicks.

Polar Bear (6-12yr)
This level is for the most advanced students to work on their technique. Swimmers will work on bilateral breathing, flip turns and all four strokes. This is a great class for your child to take if they have any interest in the Sea Stars Swim Team — they can brush up on all four competitive strokes.
