Frequently Asked Questions
The ECC uses a constructivist approach to teaching and learning, which means that together with teachers, children construct and grow their knowledge and understanding of their world through various learning opportunities. We believe that learning takes place through play and “hands on” experiences.
Through continual observation of each child, teachers recognize individual interests and support each child in achieving individual goals. Teachers carefully prepare the rooms with a variety of areas to stimulate both self-initiated and collaborative learning. Learning experiences are designed through these collaborative efforts among teachers and children to encourage growth in all areas: social, emotional, cognitive, language, creative expression, and physical development.
