At the JCC Denver, we strive to create an inclusive community and are working hard to make changes to ensure that everyone feel welcomed when they walk through our doors.
This past fall we began some of this work through the creation of the JCC LGBTQ Task Force. The task force is comprised of JCC Staff, members and experts in the field, all committed to meaningfully engaging with the LGBTQ community. While we are working to create change within our walls (everything from Pride Night at Film Fest to revising our applications and staff training), one way to make great change beyond the JCC and in the larger Colorado community is to lobby our elected officials and tell them why these issues are important to us.
Help us represent the JCC and the Jewish community at One-Colorado’s LGBTQ Lobby Day. Join us for this important day of learning about issues and bills that will advance equality for LGBTQ folks and their families. We will learn about the bills (click here to learn more about issues impacting the LGBTQ community) and then go to the state capitol to speak with our representatives. We hope to have a great group of staff, lay leaders and members representing our community at this important event. The JCC is sponsoring the event, so the more representation from our community, the better!
As we continue to build a JCC and a community where all are welcomed, included and safe, we know that supporting an event like this is the true embodiment of living our JCC values and mission.
The LGBTQ Lobby Day is Monday February 29th from 8:30 AM – 2:00 PM

We look forward to seeing you!
