The JCC Denver serves hundreds of Jewish teens throughout the course of the year in four main areas of focus: Day Camp (Camp Shai), Overnight Camp (JCC Ranch Camp), Arts and Culture (MACC Theater and Arts programs) and Sports (Maccabi Sports). We see the great value of bringing these teens together throughout the year to deepen their connection to the JCC, the Jewish Community and each other. Beyond camping, arts and culture and sports, at the JCC we place a great emphasis in leadership development through our Teen Board and CIT (counselors in training) programs throughout the year. As we continue to develop our teen leadership across the JCC we envision in increase in programming, leadership opportunities and social action events.
I love the that the JCC serves as a meeting place for Jewish friends to hang out and get to know each other.
How to Get Involved
The JCC Teen Board is made up of representatives from each of the four departments serving teens in the JCC. The JCC Teen Board is made up of an Executive and General board and is the voice in the JCC for teens.
Teen Leadership Board
The Counselors In Training (CIT) throughout the year program is geared toward teens in 9th through 11th grade who are interested in increasing their skills in working with younger children. The CIT program meets monthly and focuses on different topics relevant to working with children; group management, working with children with special needs, developmental stages, etc.
CIT Throughout the Year
There are opportunities to participate in each of summer programs as a Counselor in Training (Camp Shai), Staff in Training (JCC Ranch Camp) Intern (MACC) and dependent on need, Coach (Maccabi). Please contact each respective department for more information.
