Swim Team The Pre-Team is a program for youth swimmers who want to learn about how competitive swimming works. The swimmers will work on stroke refinement, swim practice terminology, building strength & stamina, and getting prepared to transition to swim team. Practice will be held in the indoor pool and the swimmers will not compete in any meets. Swimmers must be able to pass the Swim & Tread Test in order to qualify for the Pre-Team.

Sea Turtles

Sea Turtle
Ages 8 and under, and 9 and up
The JCC Sea Turtles is a year-round competitive swim team, with shorter seasons available for swimmers with other interests throughout the year, governed by USA Swimming. Our USA swim team focuses on personal growth within the structured environment of competitive swimming. The JCC Sea Turtles is a great transition from our Sea Stars recreation league swim team. Swimmers on this team have prior swim team experience, have participated in at least one competitive swim meet, and are competent in all 4 competitive strokes (freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly). Swimmers will be encouraged to refine their strokes through age appropriate drills, build their anaerobic capacity through interval training, and strengthen their aerobic capacity through larger sets that are appropriate for their age and skill level. Your swimmer will frequently have the opportunity to meet one on one with their coach during practice for goal setting and progress evaluations.
