Youth Counselor – Part Time (Approximately 22 hrs/week)
Club J is an after-school program of the Robert E. Loup Jewish Community Center (JCC) for children 5 -12 years of age. Club J offers a unique and enriching experience through a variety of programming such as swimming, art, language, sports and so much more to enhance a child’s experience in his/her after-school adventures. Club J runs athletic and art-based programs simultaneously for children to choose an activity based on their preference. An ideal candidate would create their own curriculum for both programs, with a stronger emphasis on the art-based programs.
As an employee of the Robert E. Loup JCC, the Youth Counselor ensures the quality and excellence in all phases of the day-to-day Club J operation. S/he serves as a member of the Club J team and is responsible for the overall effective and efficient development and implementation of programs and services of Club J. Additionally, S/he will staff programs such as Saturday Night Out, vacation camps, and youth adventure programming. S/he serves as a member of Robert E. Loup JCC staff team and adheres to its mission and vision at all times. The Youth Counselor is supervised by the Camp and Youth Programs Director.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Implement curriculum for Club J after-school programs, Saturday Night Out, vacation camps and Youth Adventures for children 5-12.
- Work with Children’s Program Coordinator to address processes and protocols, risk management and safety procedures, activities, schedule, behavior management and parent communication.
- Coordinate and lead art and athletics programs.
- Maintain and strengthen all existing Club J programs to continuously enhance the experience for children.
- Gain knowledge and information to help create awareness about Israel and cultivate Jewish identity.
- Foster healthy relationships as part of the Robert E. Loup JCC community.
- Help cross-promote all Robert E. Loup JCC’s programs and offerings.
- Drive a 16-passenger van to pick up children from elementary schools and drop off at the JCC.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- The successful candidate will have at minimum a high school degree, experience working with children in a variety of settings and a flexible schedule.
- S/he must have strong communication skills, ability to collaborate and get along with the team, resourceful, flexible, engaging, ability to multi-task, and work efficiently.
- S/he will have an experience with curriculum development, as well as leading art and athletic programming for children.
- S/he must possess the ability to build a team and continuously motivate their staff.
- S/he must have a clean driving record to operate a 16-passenger van to pick up children from elementary schools and drop off at the JCC.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification required.
The Robert E. Loup Jewish Community Center (JCC) in Denver, CO is searching for an energetic full-time Director of its Early Childhood Center (ECC) to work in collaboration with a team of early childhood professionals and lay leaders. Serving the Denver Jewish community for over 75 years, the ECC is guided by its Jewish values and traditions. A comprehensive early learning center, supporting the whole family, the ECC is open from 7am – 6pm for children ages 12 weeks to five years. Candidates will preferably have a Master’s degree in early childhood education, social work, child development or related field, at least 3 years of leadership and supervisory experience in an early childhood center, a minimum of 5 years of teaching experience in an early childhood center and ideally possess qualifications to become director-certified.
This position is ideal for a qualified candidate who possesses:
- An early childhood background that is grounded in developmentally appropriate practice and constructivist teaching and learning, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in early childhood education administration
- A demonstrated track record of collaborating with other educators, coordinating, coaching, mentoring and supervising educators

Position Summary

Roles and Responsibilities of Operations Coordinator:
The ECC Office Coordinator will work collaboratively with the ECC administrative team and business office to ensure successful operations on a daily basis and will hold specific responsibility for the following:
• Work with business office to coordinate, communicate and administer human resource, payroll and benefit policies and procedures.
• Support ECC administrators in teacher recruitment and hiring process, post job openings, distribution and mailing of letters of hire, and letters of rejection. Manage and maintain employment applications and all record systems relating to recruitment.
• Coordinate background checks and manage and maintain result files.
• Responsible for the processing of the ECC staff payroll which includes approval/denial of PTO requests, accuracy and approval of bi-weekly payroll, disciplinary memos for unexcused absences, and submission of all required payroll forms to the business office.
• Coordinate and manage with ECC administration new ECC staff orientation to foster positive attitude toward organizational objectives.
• Assist the business office in ensuring timely and accurate tuition billing occurs monthly. Communicate with business office regularly.
• Responsible for ECC collections, informing parents of their late payment status and ensuring timely collection.
• Assist the business office in the tuition scholarship process.
• Responsible for entering vendor invoices into the accounting system. Manage expenditures within the approved ECC operating budget.
• Ensure consistent application of all human resource policies via a performance management system including, but not limited to: performance documentation, performance review system, meeting regularly with teachers, supporting educational directors in meetings with teachers. Coordinate and communicate all human resource activity immediately with business office and ECC administration.
• Manage logistics of registration process including timing, parent communication, forms, and contracts. Serve as primary source of information for ECC parent questions regarding contract enforcement and questions.
• Monitor and supervise the system for immunization records and communication.
• Understand licensing regulations and maintain required records including, but not limited to: staff and student files, medication and allergy procedures, staff training requirements, and meeting monthly with school nurse.
• Manage Denver Preschool Program process to ensure 100% enrollment of eligible children and accurate/timely month billing and receipts.
• Oversee the general ordering and inventory of supplies for the ECC.
• Manage fire inspection and coordinate monthly fire and tornado drill schedules with Director of Safety and Security and maintenance staff.
• Assist in ensuring that daily classroom ratios are maintained via proper daily schedule.
• Ensure information on ECC web page is updated timely. Maintain accurate contact lists for staff and families.
• Ensure proper follow-up for all tours conducted by educational directors.
• Work with ECC administrative team to prepare for licensing visits.
• Manage accident/incident reports. Report to licensing and/or workers compensation as needed.
• Supervise ECC office manager.
• Assist with various projects and other duties as deemed necessary.
Position Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree.
• 3-5 years experience and demonstrated track record of success in human resources, office administration and/or accounting and managing the operations of a small business or team.
• Accounting experience preferred.
• Advanced computer skills with Windows based software and specific software, including Mail Merge and Data Manipulation (Microsoft Word, Excel).
Stanley British Primary School Teacher Preparation Program at Robert E. Loup
Jewish Community Center’s Early Childhood Center
The JCC’s Early Childhood Center, in conjunction with Stanley British Primary School, is seeking intern candidates to participate in our teacher preparation program in the field of Early Childhood Education. Interns gain an understanding of experience-based, developmentally appropriate early education. Steadily increasing responsibilities as their skills and confidence grow, Intern teachers work with small groups of children and collaborate with mentor teachers in the teaching of an entire class. With on-going feedback and support from their mentor teachers and educational advisors, Interns participate in all aspects of the teaching process. Swim Coach
We are seeking a highly qualified coach to lead our Sea Stars Swim Team. The Sea Stars swim in the CARA league. The league’s philosophy is to have a program with a strong recreational format for the non-ranked, non-sanctioned participants. While competition has its place, the emphasis on the program is the development of skills and sportsmanship while stressing participation for all swimmers.
Job Summary:
The Swim Team Coach are responsible for managing and directing the Sea Stars Swim Team program. The coaches oversee all practices, swim meets and related activities and provide swim team members with individual instruction tailored to the needs and skill ability of each individual.
Job Functions:
- Responsible for the Sea Stars Swim Team at the Robert E Loup Jewish Community Center.
- Provide direction and leadership to the Assistant Coach.
- Develop team goals and strategies for a successful swim seasons.
- Work with Assistant Coach to assist swimmers in developing personal swim goals. Goals should include dropping times.
- Plan and run every workout for the Sea Stars to help reach team and individual goals. Assign responsibilities to Assistant Coach for running practices.
- Assist other coaches in creating the workout for the Jr. Sea Stars.
- Attend all practices. In case of a conflict with practice, work with Aquatics Coordinator to staff practice.
- Attend CPRA swim team meetings.
- Meet with Aquatics Coordinator as needed.
- Work with Assistant Coach to develop swim meet line-ups. Responsible for the administrative tasks related to meet line-ups. Create line-ups for meets that give swimmers opportunities to swim various events throughout the season and line-up with team and individual goals.
- Maintain swim meet records (times, etc.)
- Attend all swim meets.
- Attend all swim team events outlined on swim team calendar.
- Hold stroke and turn clinics — work with Aquatics Coordinator to schedule dates. Responsible for promoting and encouraging swimmers to attend — goal of 75% attendance in clinics.
- Listen to parents concerns/issues with respect and work towards a win-win outcome — communicate with swim team coordinators to help resolve issues.
- Display professional behavior when representing the JCC (practices, meets, events, at the pool, CPRA meetings, etc.)
- Responsible for returning swim team phone calls and emails in 24 hours from time they are received.
Certifications:
- Current CPR certification.
- Current First Aid certificate.
- Current LG certification
Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of CPRA Swimming rules
- Education and Experience:
- Competitive swimming background.
- Minimum one (1) year coaching experience; experience with a CPRA team preferred.
- High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) Certificate.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Employment Schedule:
Monday & Wednesday 4:15-5:30 pm (practice)
Administration (including meet preparation) [2-4 hours/week]
Swim Meets, Meetings, & Clinics [varies, 1 per month average]
The JCC Denver is looking for experienced aquatics professionals to start immediately. We are looking for lifeguards that are available to work varying hours between 5:30 am and 9:00 pm, including weekends. If you are also experienced teaching swim lessons, let us know.
Lifeguards must ensure a fun, yet safe swimming environment for all users of the facility.
This includes: patron surveillance, rule enforcement, accident prevention, and daily pool and facility maintenance.
Lifeguards are expected to provide excellent customer service to all members, guests, and JCC staff.
